As I’ve gotten older, some memories that used to be so clear have faded but there are certain moments that will stay with me for as long as I live. What I wouldn’t give for those who know me today to have met my brother Tyler, they would have loved him… everyone did.
That smile could light up an entire room, his laugh… oh geeze, I can’t even describe it.. it makes me laugh just thinking about it. He was one of the toughest and bravest people I’ve ever known, I wish I had just an ounce of the bravery he had. When Jesse and I had to get our blood tested to see who was a match for a bone marrow transplant, I remember being so unbelievably terrified.. as in “I don’t think I can do this, I’m gonna puke… please don’t make me”. They even used the cream on my skin that basically numbs it, yeah it did NOT work.. I still felt it, and after they couldn’t find a vein on my right arm I had to do it AGAIN on the other. Oh boy, that experience was horrible! Still to this day, I can’t give blood… it makes me sick to my stomach. But Ty, he could swallow a handful of pills no problem, was so used to getting poked that it never seemed to phase him. He would continue to play his video games or kick our butts at UNO as they checked his levels or gave him his meds. Seems unreal that it’s been 14 years since he lost his battle with Cancer, but not a day goes by that we don’t think of him.

Stan Heller - He is missed. He sure made a lasting impression on my family. He was an amazing young man. But not just Tyler – your whole family have always shown the way to live, love, and cherish one another.
Holly - Awwww…what a sweet post
Betsy - I’m so sorry you lost your brother. He looks and sounds like a precious soul. Cancer took my husband, so I know what it’s like to lose someone in that way. So sad for your family’s loss. I’m sure that 14 years sometimes feels like one day. Take care.
