Hiii! Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! My name is Ashley Cohn and I'm a lifestyle photographer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

I'll tell you a little bit about myself: I went to college at Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota majoring in Family Social Science, this gave me the foundation to work with families and children in a different situations and environments. If you asked me what I wanted to be growing up, I would have told you a teacher without a doubt in my mind. I developed a passion for working with children when I was little and have been able to combine it with my love of photography to have the best job on earth (in my opinion)...a photographer :) I love being able to capture kids, newborn babies, families, people in love, and all of life's precious moments.

A few fun facts: I am addicted to M&Ms, plain is always preferred but I can mix it up between peanut butter and the mint during Christmas time. I read almost every issue of People and US Weekly magazine, cover to cover, and check gossip sites on a daily basis. Friends is one of my favorite shows. Discovering a new song and playing it on repeat is one of life's simple pleasures. My photography business is named after my brothers and me; J is for Jesse my younger but much taller brother and Tyler is my brother who lost is battle with leukemia at the age of 8. This way they will always be a part of me.

2011 Favorites

A few of my personal favorites from last year… from a wedding, to babies, a couple of seniors and a whole lot of love! Thank you to everyone who made 2011 absolutely INCREDIBLE, honestly I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings!

When I started my photography business over 3 years ago, I had no idea the impact these families I was photographing would have on me. To be able to watch these families love and grow over the years has been one of the greatest honors! This family, the beautiful Sarah and her 3 men/boys, have been there from the get go, Will was around 6 months when I met him and now he’s 3 years old. He’s no longer an only child though, since I’ve last seen them he’s become a BIG brother and a GREAT big brother at that. Will has this ability to make Ben laugh uncontrollably, as you’ll see in one of the photos below! Thanks H family for having me over, it’s always great to see you! Good luck with the rest of the remodeling

Guess who is going to be a BIG SISTER….. AMELIA!!!!I’m so happy Courtney and Ryan got to share the news yesterday that they are having baby #2, because I’ll be honest the secret was eating me alive! I just wanted to shout it from the rooftops! They are incredible parents, and Amelia is going to be a GREAT big sister!!!!

On top of that AWESOME news, I’m thinking of offering two mini sessions dates for those who are interested… I know everyone gets super busy when it comes to the fall, so if you are up for a short… 25-30 minute session, 10-12 images on a disc… let me know and we’ll figure out a date.

Possible dates: September 25, October 23 if there’s a lot of interest, I will open up a 3rd date! Please e-mail me ASAP if you would like to do one of these days!
