Hiii! Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! My name is Ashley Cohn and I'm a lifestyle photographer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

I'll tell you a little bit about myself: I went to college at Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota majoring in Family Social Science, this gave me the foundation to work with families and children in a different situations and environments. If you asked me what I wanted to be growing up, I would have told you a teacher without a doubt in my mind. I developed a passion for working with children when I was little and have been able to combine it with my love of photography to have the best job on earth (in my opinion)...a photographer :) I love being able to capture kids, newborn babies, families, people in love, and all of life's precious moments.

A few fun facts: I am addicted to M&Ms, plain is always preferred but I can mix it up between peanut butter and the mint during Christmas time. I read almost every issue of People and US Weekly magazine, cover to cover, and check gossip sites on a daily basis. Friends is one of my favorite shows. Discovering a new song and playing it on repeat is one of life's simple pleasures. My photography business is named after my brothers and me; J is for Jesse my younger but much taller brother and Tyler is my brother who lost is battle with leukemia at the age of 8. This way they will always be a part of me.

2011 Favorites

A few of my personal favorites from last year… from a wedding, to babies, a couple of seniors and a whole lot of love! Thank you to everyone who made 2011 absolutely INCREDIBLE, honestly I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings!

In one of my 5 Faves I mentioned the book “Water for Elephants” and how incredible it was, as in I lost myself in the book for a few days and completely fell in love with it. When the trailer was released for the movie, I watched it repeatedly because I was THAT excited for it to be released. Last weekend went by and I didn’t get a chance to get to the movies to see it, but Monday I met my lovely friend and bride-to-be Tina for an afternoon movie… Water for Elephants. As I watched the movie I had that feeling of complete love and admiration for the it, more than I thought I could. I honestly felt like I did when I saw Titanic 8 times (yes, 8 times in the theater) when I was 13… I could go see this movie over and over without getting sick of it. The other day Green Wedding Shoes posted an session that was inspired by the movie, oh how I swoon over this. The fashion, the style… ahh I love it. I thought it would be the perfect thing to share on this finally sunny Friday afternoon. I love these two, plain and simple. Even though their past 2 trips home have been WAY too short, it was SO good to see them this weekend and have a chance to take some engagement photos. It was a little chilly on Saturday morning, but we made it work! I could hang out with Jesse and Heather all day long, so here’s to hoping they will be moving CLOSER sometime soon.. Virginia is SOOOOO far away!! Get your butts back to the Midwest!!!Here are just a few from Saturday… love you both and miss you already!
